Here is a link to a works document that has written instructions for the keys and paper colors to use to make this awesome castle. http://www.mediafire.com/?52wennmgoue
I have pictures elsewhere on my blog on my assembly of the castle and I will also add my roof assembly video today (*I have to edit it to under 10 minutes for youtube)
Hope this helps. Feel free to email me or comment with questions or suggestions.

New lighting
I have been so sick of the BAD lighting in my scrap corner in my basement so......on day I went hunting around my garage for an unused flourescent light to hang from the ceiling. I found one that I brought in and I had to clean it up. I did such a good job hanging that thing. I even used the secure sheetrock things that you're supposed to use so the light is pretty secure (*crossing my fingers) and shouldn't fall on my head. What this means....my videos (*when I ever do make one) and my photos will be much better to see for all you viewers who stop by my blog!

Cake
I used fondant on the entire cake. I used colored fondant for the
flowers. For the flower shapes I cut them from the cricut with paper
and used the shaped as a template to cut out of fondant with a craft
blade. I made this for my neighbor who isn't feeling so well.

Ckc
I followed my gps to ckc Manchester new Hampshire from Hollis Maine. I always worry with the gps that it's going to get me lost but it didn't. I drove around for half an hour looking for a vacant spot in a parking garage. I finally called ckc and they connected me to the garage and they told me where to park. I wish I had done that first. When I got there I didn't really know where but I followed the crowd and found my way. I checked in at the volunteer desk and got all my volunteer goodies. I went to ckc booth and spent my volunteer $30 there first and half off a shirt. I only spent $7 for tons of stuff. I got a couple kits and some books. Next I headed to my volunteer 4 hour shift. You don't get to choose who u get to volunteer but boy was I lucky because I got the S.E.I. classes! I have been wanting to check out the sei stuff. I didn't get any of the class materials but I did get to learn new techniques and help out others. I had so much fun volunteering!!! I think I will sign up to volunteer all day next year! I took the fabulous flower technique class and I really didn't care for it. It was mostly about the I-Top tool. I had only half an hour to go to the vendor faire. I was really upset that there was nothing from cricut. I needed new mats and I wanted to get them there. There were so many booths to look at and so many super duper sales!!!! I was in heavean for half an hour. The long walk to my car was aweful because I had so much stuff I was carrying on my back and hands.

Ckc Manchester On Friday all day!!!
This will be my first time going to the creating keepsakes convention. I joined the ckc club and I got a free pass to the convention and free class voucher so I decided I would take advantage of it. I am going to be a volunteer for four hours. I will get thitry dollars to spend at the ck booth. I cant wait to check out all the products and take a class. I will also be surrounded by people that have the same interest as me. Actually for me it's an addiction. My mom is going to keep my little one overnight so I will have no worries and in no hurry to get home. I can't wait. I will tell you all about it when I get back!

Cricut vs fruit rollup
Ok so I got this idea the other watching robyns video. She cut out
shapes with something not so edible using the cricut cake. So I
wondered if I could cut a fruit rollup with my cricut expression. I
went to the dollar tree and bought 7 boxes with 10 in each box. I
needed plenty of them to work with! They are yummy kiwi strawberry
too. So last night I scrubbed off the adhesive from one of my old
mats. I put the fruit rollup on the mat. I moved the rubber roller
things in the machine to the sides so they don't get yucky. I used my
deep cut blade set at 6 full pressure. It cut like a dream!! I just
need to check that my blade didn't get yucky. Oh another thing, I used
goo gone to get the sticky off the mat.

I will probably add a few bugs and some more bling.
I made all the flowers with Walk in my garden cricut cartridge. I heat embossed white on the rose. This metal basket is something i got for christmas with a bundle of bath stuff. The bottom had a big piece of foam in it when i got it. So i just came across it the other day and thought how cool it would be to put flowers in it. I covered the foam with green tissue paper. I used wooden skewers for the stems. Yes, I do have these in my craft area...lol. I cut strips of green patterned paper and glued it around the skewer. I Used my quilling kit to make the curly leaves on the stems. Then I cut the flowers with my gypsy to fit in the 6" area. The rose I did a black shadow because of the challenge but the others have no shadow. I just cut the flowers; base and shift.

Tons of orders
I made tons of internet orders on a few websites over the weekend. I got a decent webcam with a microphone for $5 from Amazon. I got that in the mail today. I liked it so much that I ordered one for each of my 2 older children for an easter present...I ordered them today after I opened mine. I ordered a new cell phone case for my new iphone and got that yesterday. It's a pretty purple flip case. It's going to take some getting used to but it will protect my phone which is totally important for me. I ordered that from cellphoneshop.com which is awesome website and cheap cheap discounts. Super fast shipping too. I was browsing bestbuy.com and found another case for my iphone purple for $2. I was forced to buy it..lol. I was on orientaltrading.com searching for little things for a gift bag at my daughter's bday april 19 and I started browsing the scrapbook sections and I ordered a truckload of stuff. I ordered from shopsei.com finally. I have been wanting to try their paper. I ordered some stuff from paperwishes.com. Gosh I probably have a few more coming that I forgot about too. LOL. The shipping costs weren't too bad either at each of these places. If just happen to be looking for adhesive cd cases, I bought some for the family business. I got 1,000 adhesive cd sleeves for $119.00 and 13.99 shipping from univenture.com. There are some other stuff that they carry specifically for scrapbookers too. I just thought I would mention this item too.
Happy Shopping,
Heather
P.S. my hubby will probably take my credit card soon...lol!

HAPPY NEWS
My super sweet hubby bought me a new iphone the other day. Early bday present. It's a 3g-s so it takes video too. The only thing is that I lost my fave blog app and it's not free anymore. So now I gotta find another program for my Iphone to blog with.
3D Princess Castle
I MADE THE 3D PRINCESS CASTLE FROM THE ONCE UPON A PRINCESS CARTRIDGE. I WANTED TO MAKE THIS FOR MY DAUGHTERS BIRTHDAY PARTY NEXT MONTH. WHEN I WANTED TO MAKE ONE I COULDN'T REALLY FIND ANY SOLID INFO TO HELP ME. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN. WELL I CAN GIVE YOU SOME SO SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS THAT WILL DEFINITELY PUSH YOU TO MAKE ONE. THERE ARE ONLY SEVEN IMAGES THAT YOU ARE GOING TO CUT. I ALSO DID THIS WITH MY GYPSY TOO. YOU WILL USE THE LAST 2 KEYS ON THE KEYPAD 49 and 50. NOW KEYS 49 and 50 NO FEATURES SHIFT AND NO SHIFT. THERES 4. FEATURE 1 KEY 49 NON SHIFT AND FEATURE 1 SHIFT KEYS 49 and 50. THAT 3 MORE KEYS FOR A TOTAL OF 7 KEYS. KEEP THEM ALL GROUPED TOGETHER SO WHEN YOU RESIZE THEM THEY WILL ALL RESIZE PROPORTIONATELY TO EACH OTHER SO THEY WILL FIT TOGETHER.

sad news
I was cleaning my pond of dead fish in my backyard and my iphone fell in. I did get it out but it got too wet and is not working. I was using my iphone to post pictures to my blog so that's why I haven't been posting pictures lately. I am hoping to get a new iphone for my birthday may 29. Until then I will have to use my regular camera.....save them to my computer....resize them.....then upload them to blogger. Such a horrid process when I used to just click and upload with my iphone. Those of you out there who are owners of an iphone know my pain and sadness.
Goodnight All,
Heather

Once upon a princess
I am awaiting the arrival of my new cartridge Once Upon a Princess. When I do receive it I will be posting videos of my projects. I want to make the paper castle for my daughter's 4th birthday April 19th so I have plenty of time to screw the castle up and make a good one. I also am planning the cake too. I am planning to make a castle cake with the few items I have in my cupboards. Keep checking back for my new stuff to come.

Camera with flash
Here's a camera with flash. I think it's just George and accent essentials carts. I will upload the file in about an hour.

Here's the layout of the pieces on the mat without the flash I added that after but it's obvious it's the flash. I also grouped the silver together so its just one piece in the end result file.

Cricut stamps continued
Ok so I finally bought new cutting mats today. It's been over a year since I've had new mats. I read somewhere online that you need brand new mats to use the stamp material. When I got home I tried cutting the stamp again--with success!!!
So totally important info to know before cutting stamps:
1. Use deep cut blade AND the deep blade housing.
2. Use brand spankin' new mat. ( I read online that even trying to place another stamp sheet in the same spot will not work) use fresh new spot.
Here's a picture the finished stamp used on a project with white embossing powder.

Have a lovely night!

My first squash album
I decided last night to make my first squash album. I was looking for something fun and interesting to make for a special little girl I know that's not feeling so well these days. I decorated it some leaving some spots for her to finish herself. I am also sending some paper and stickers along so she has some stuff to work with to finish the book!
I also included a spinner with pictures underneath for some added fun features of herself and her family! There are also hidden tags with special phrases of encouragement on them.
See you soon "K"

cricut stamps
Okay so I bought the right deep cut blade housing. I thought you just put the deep cut blade in the same green housing as the other one. I also found a stickier mat too. It didn't work still. Almost broke my machine again. So my son and I decided to cut a stamp ourselves.
So my son picked out a design he liked and we cut it in vinyl. I stuck the stamp material to my glass mat which worked out awesome cause it held the stamp stuff in place. I put the adhesive vinyl shape on top of the stamp stuff. I then cut it out with an exacto blade and some of the cricut tools. When it was time to stamp with it, it came out AWESOME!! One way or another I was going to make a stamp with that damn stuff. It really didn't take long to cut it out either. It also cut very easily with the exacto blade. My son was stamping everything with it. He thinks its great and is planning the next stamp to make.

Cricut stamp material
I tried making a stamp with the stamp kit for the cricut. It was not so good and almost broke my cricut. I don't dare to try it again. My first attempt was using the recommended setting and it barely cut the material. I changed the settings the second time and the rubber lifted off the mat and wrapped around the blade. Then my cricut acted funny and I thought it was broken until I restarted it. I don't think I will try it again.
Maybe I will after I read more on the Internet about this.

Love my gypsy
I used my gypsy finally to cut with and made a layout with it. I absolutely 100% love it and I am so glad that I got it. I was able to use my small pieces of scraps. I knew exactly how big the item was going to be before I cut it. What an amazing tool is all I have to say.
Happy cutting,
Heather

got my gypsy
I got my gypsy yesterday. I updated it and updated my cricut expression. I also loaded all my cartridges on it. It was pretty easy too. The George cartridge loaded differently than the other carts. You have to hook the gypsy up to the cricut and then put the george cart in the cricut and when the gypsy asks to load the cart say yes and then click on the george button at the bottom of the screen and follow all the on screen instructions. It worked perfectly for me the first time. I just decided to add this bit of information because I read on the messageboard that a lot of people are having trouble loading the george cart. Also, make sure the load cartridge cord is fully connect to the gypsy. I also had that issue. It wouldn't read the carts and then i pushed it in fully and it read the carts no problem. I didn't come across any other issues. I did play around with it a little bit. I haven't cut anything with it yet. I absolutely love the gypsy font and the gypsy wanderings carts that are preloaded on the gypsy. I am going to love not having to plug in my carts and search for the keypad everytime i do a project. Thats the best part about the gypsy i think.
Now I have a question for you: can I bring my gypsy to my mom's house and use it with her machine or do i need to still bring my carts to use with her machine?

I got the last few things on my list today. Even better, I got to use the 60% off coupons at M's. I got a heat gun, embossing powder, and embossing pens. This means that I'm done shopping for a while. Now I can start using my stuff and making tutorial and such. I'm so looking forward to making videos.

Finished blanket pics
Surprise!
I am so surprised. My friend finally gave me the money she owes me today and It's enough to buy the last two items on my TO GET list. Add to that surprise, my husband let me use the credit card to buy the items online. I found a super deal on the Gypsy at Hallmarkscrapbook.com. It's $199!!! Can you believe it!!! So I got to order that and 4 refills for my glue glider pro and some other little things. All of it for $260. I am so happy I am practically jumping up and down. I can't stop smiling. Only 5-7 days for them to get here.
I also finished the blanket I was working on for the past few days. I took a bunch of cricut cuts and used them as stencils to cut fabric. Then I appliqued them onto my daughter's favorite blanket. I absolutely love how it came out!! I am thinking about making some more to sell at my yard sale this summer. I will take a picture and post it in a few minutes.
Have a sweet night,

UPDATE
I updated some of my blog posts. As I learn more about how to use this blog I need to go back a fix some things about previous posts. So that is what I did today. I went back and resized a lot of my pictures. More specifically if resized the pix in the post "old projects". I was so upset that they were huge and you couldn't see the whole picture. My very first post "newbie" I also updated and added a few things to it if you wanna go back and check it out.
My hand is doing good. I took one of the stitches out cause it was just hideous. I could have done better stitches than the ones the doctor did except for the fact that I can't stitch with my right hand. I am left-handed and that's the one I injured. THAT FIGURES!! I will probably take the rest out in the next day or two. I couldn't really do anything with my hand the first day, but after that I have better mobility so I can do all my stuff now. INCLUDING CRAFTS!
Hmmmm....anything that I'm forgetting to update.....I have been blogging for a month and I am loving it. I can't wait to get more followers and more comments. I also want to start posting more about the projects that I am doing. It's only my first month so there is more to come in the months ahead.
Remember....smiles are contagious!

Martha Stewart Score Board
Okay! So, my Michael's did have the score board. I called the day before and the girl said they didn't have them. Well I went to the store with my 60% off coupon in hand looking for a heat gun. I came to the martha stewart stuff--THERE IT WAS--the martha score board!!! I was practically jumping up and down in the aisle I was so happy. I guess my Mike's isn't that sucky after all which is what I said in a previous post. It was like $9 with my coupon....I am so happy!! I used it to make my 48 valentine cards and it's awesome!!! I love love love it!!! (I am a little happy with the martha board) So I got to check one more thing off my NEED TO GET list. I have the gypsy and glue glider pro refills left on my list. Of course I have another small list of things that I also wanna get and probably will get before the NEED TO GET list items. Oh god....do I make any sense....is anybody even reading this stuff....do I sound crazy....by the way I am having a superb day and I hope you are too.
