UPDATE

My son has been home for 3 weeks and is doing well. He still has a feeding tube because he's not swallowing right. We go back to Boston this Thursday for another swallow test and doctor appointment. I wish he could do his appointments in Portland because Boston is 2 hours away and Portland is a half hour.

Scrapping update: I got my pink ATG and I Rock yesterday and I tried them out and they are awesome!! I waited 2 months patiently to get them from Glenda. She did an awesome job though dealing with customers and slow manufacturers. She gave everyone a little extra something with our orders for waiting so long. I did a little work on my "Love Album" of me and my husband last night. I also ordered the straight from the nest cartridge and I can't wait to get that. The circle people should find out what the next cartridge is going to be any day now. We don't get it until October but I just want to see what it is!!! Also, I have been checking out the cricut Imagine machine and I totally want it!! I have been leaking little bits of information to my husband about it hoping he will buy me one. WooHoo! I hope everyone had a great summer!

Son update

He has developed an infection in his face so he has been given antibiotics and we are staying an extra day or two. Meanwhile, since We've been in Boston, my 20 year old daughter and her two kids have moved back in for a little while. We definitely have a full house now.

So I have been blog hopping and getting inspiration for a project when I get home. I am going to make back to school cards for all the kids in the family. My two and my nieces and nephews. I wish I had my gypsy with me.

My amazing children

I have to say that i have the most amazing children. When two of my kids have been in the hospital they have healed and done things so quickly that they not only amaze me but also the doctors and nurses. These kids have amazing strength and courage to bounce back from their injuries and face recovery head on.

Update on my son: okay so it hasn't even been a week post op and he is going to have his trache out tomorrow, he is up and using crutches, and is tolerating the feedings. He has all his drains removed for which there were four. His cast and bandagea removed from his leg. He has staples from his knee to his ankle. This was the most shocking thing to me. I had no idea that it was going to be so big.

Surgery update

My son had his surgery last wednesday august 4. It lasted 10 hours and I didnt get to see him until three hours after that. Needless to say i was pacing the floor. The first doctor removed the entire tumor and the tissue around it. The next doctor went in and took bone and tissue from his leg and rebuilt the left side of his jaw. He is breathing through a traque in his neck. He also has a feeding tube in his nose. Surgery was a success!! No chemo or radiation for him this time!! He is young and strong and will heal quickly. I think we will b going back home by Friday. Home nurses will probably take over from there.
